This year's OCOT Session will take place off-site at the Lloyd A. Jacobs Interprofessional Immersive Simulation Center (IISC) at the University of Toledo.

Please note that due to parking restrictions at the IISC, attendees are required to either participate in the carpool or utilize non-parking options like Lyft, Uber, or taxis. If you're interested in carpooling from the Renaissance Toledo Downtown Hotel, please gather in the lobby at 6:30 am. Carpools will depart at 6:45 am sharp. All attendees are expected to arrive at the simulation center by 7:00 am to allow time for preparations, including changing into scrubs

This hybrid session will feature four distinct scenarios, each with didactic and hands-on cadaveric dissection designed to deepen understanding and sharpen skills in critical aspects of trauma surgery:

  1. Colonic Injury with Ureteral Injury: Explore ureteral reconstruction and repair techniques in the context of colonic injury scenarios.

  2. Common Bile Duct Injury: Navigate bail-out maneuvers and safe repair strategies in cases of common bile duct injury.

  3. Large Vessel Vascular Trauma: Learn techniques for isolation, ligation, patch repair, and vein harvesting in the management of large vessel vascular trauma.

  4. Hemorrhaging Liver Injuries: Address hepatorrhaphy, hemostatic adjuncts, and nonanatomic resection methods for managing hemorrhaging liver injuries.
